An introduction to the podcast and its first ever tournament player draw for the Actor Battle.
The first celebrity tournament was not televised. Nor recorded. So the only thing history has to cling to as proof that it even existed is the tournament bracket shown below. None of these actors are permitted to take part in Tournament II (which is the podcast) but may return at a later date for a potential World Cup PEA.
Unlike in the current tournament where all actors were chosen Draft Style by the competitors, for the initial games the actors were chosen at random with thanks to the website randomcelebritygenerator.com . This led to some spicy match-ups, C list celebs and Jason Schwartzman. The actors named on the top are mine and bottom James's. The reason the bracket has ended the way it has cannot be understood unless you have a) taken peyote, b) the cerebral intensity of Stephen J Hawkins, C) Have a lot of time on your hands and really, really want to understand it. Trust me, it all makes sense. Here are the results of that thrilling opening tournament.
